Notable Actions/Occurrences (1st year):
Has a hard time at first with hand to hand. Attempts to try other moves he sees, as a distraction.
He creates his own Saino, but it almost kills him. Injures his hands trying to perform it. He can perform mabakata, a technique taught in the 3rd year but takes until 5th or 6th year to be skilled. Most Senshi only use it as initial encounter or to escape and evade lesser skilled non-Senshi opponents. The staff seems to know he is a Rhenze, but doesn't mention that word until the 2nd Arc.
The first hall Dean tasks the Student Council to watch him and prepare to take him out.
He has a sour relationship with Ushiku majority of 1st Arc.
Moriyama realizes he is holding back and tells Jiyu, he shouldn't or else he will never grow. Moriyama teaches him script writing to appease him from attempting Saino until his body can handle it.
He is stronger than he looks and his hand to hand skills grow as the story progresses. He excels in Adaptive Defense and mabataka.
